James Lindsay Landscape Photographer
About
My passion for landscape photography comes from a love of the countryside. I am rarely happier than when photographing the landscape on a beautiful morning. I hope this shows in my pictures.
I have travelled around the UK and beyond, inspired by some stunning views, and I live on the edge of the Cotswolds, which gives me a beautiful area to work in. Locally, I particularly enjoy the challenge of creating a minimalist image, with a composition in which I believe, rather than capturing a well-known view. This can mean discovering and working in some of the quietest spots, often away from the best known places and landmarks; and perhaps fits with the idea of escaping into the quiet, away from busy life.
Many of my favourite photographs are created in short-lived weather conditions, such as mist and frost, which I think can also help in creating strong, simple images.
I have had a camera from a very early age, when I used it mostly at motorsport events. I have many years of event photography experience and I now work in commercial photography. I was taken around many parts of the UK as a child, and I am sure that’s responsible for my love of the landscape now.
